Our client, an established firm of Accountants based in Winchester, is seeking to appoint an experienced payroll candidate for a part-time role, approximately 2-3 days a week. As the successful candidate, your duties will include:
- Running payrolls for different client companies on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Managing the entire payroll process from start to finish, including all HMRC submissions, starters, leavers, SSP, SMP etc.
- Setting up all new users/clients with appropriate access on the payroll system and client side of the work.
- Assisting in processing payroll year ends
- Responding to clients on pay-related queries
- Resolving any issues with HMRC
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation changes
- Assisting with general accounts duties such as bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts – training can be given on this for those who are specialised in payroll.
Any previous experience working within a firm of Accountants or payroll bureau would be highly beneficial, but not essential. You will need a strong payroll background, and ideally have experience in software such as Xero and Sage Payroll.
