Full or Part-time Accounts Assistant / Sales Ledger

£12.00 – £14.00 per hour

Joining a friendly, well-established company in Fareham, the successful candidate will take on a variety of accounts / sales ledger duties. You will be responsible for:

  • Sales Ledger – preparation and posting sales invoices / credit notes, reconciliations of payments upon receipt, matching remittances with outstanding invoices and liaising with customers regarding queries / disputes, as well as preparation and distribution of customer statements
  • Credit control – daily monitoring of debtors, settlement of disputed items, ensuring customers adhere to trading terms, adding new customer accounts on to the system
  • Banking and petty cash including reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements, petty cash transactions, etc
  • Involvement in preparing accounts for the Financial Controller to undertake year-end analysis
  • Assisting with other general accounts / administration duties as needed

Ideally, you will have studied accountancy in some capacity such as AAT etc. Knowledge of Excel is essential for this role. The company are ideally looking for someone to work full-time, however could consider circa 30 hours and upwards for the right person.

The company are hoping for someone to start on a 6 month contract, with the potential for the right candidate to become permanent. You do not need the be available immediately, as the company are happy to wait for the right person.
