Full or Part-time Assistant Accountant

£28,000 – £35,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity to join a growing business, working within a friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate maintenance of sales and purchase ;edgers and production of timely financial reporting. The company are looking for someone who is motivated to learn and grow with the company, eventually taking on a Finance Manager position. Duties will include:

  • Raising sales invoices
  • Issuing statements to customers, inputting on to systems and associated analysis / coding, undertaking credit control
  • Generating weekly pay runs
  • CIS returns
  • Setting up new suppliers and customers, running credit checks as needed
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts and reports / variance analysis / Work In Progress statements

Previous experience using Xero is essential for this role. Ideally, you will have previous experience working within the construction industry, but this is not essential. The company are looking for someone who is motivated to continue their career and move to a higher level in the future, so ideally you will be motivated and passionate about accounting. The company can consider both full-time candidates and those who need school hours or similar, with flexibility to suit the right candidate.
